NEC 2017 Code Changes - ONL227C

Course Number

The 2017 NEC Code Changes
Changes to the National Electric Code® (NEC)
Course code: ONL227C

The National Electrical Code® (NEC) is updated on a 3-year cyclical basis. Each edition must be revised because of the continuous introduction of new technologies into the marketplace and the release of new research results by various public and private groups.

This online course discusses major revisions in the 2017 edition and explains substantiation for those changes. Understanding the reasoning for these updates enables personnel in the electrical field to more readily comprehend and implement new rulings for the safe installation of electrical systems and equipment.

It is helpful if students are familiar with previous editions of the NEC.  Students are encouraged to have a copy of the 2017 NEC to use as a study reference but it is not required.
